How our masterbatch is made
Compounding, color matching and QC under one roof in Foshan, Guangdong.
MHK Color operates 17 twin-screw compounding lines in Foshan, Guangdong, with an annual output of 13,000 tonnes. Pigment, carrier resin and additive are weighed, pre-mixed, compounded and pelletised on site, so a color approved in our lab is the same color that ships in bulk.
Our color-matching laboratory keeps a formulation database of more than 30,000 proven recipes. When a target shade arrives, colorists select the nearest reference and adjust pigment type, concentration and carrier to suit the customer's polymer and process, then verify the match on a spectrophotometer before the sample leaves the building.
Quality control holds batch-to-batch color within ΔE 1.0 under ISO 9001. Every lot ships with CoA, TDS and SDS, and regulated applications can be supplied with FDA, EU 10/2011, RoHS or USP Class VI documentation.
Typical processing window: 160–380 °C. Standard production lead time after sample approval: 2–7 days.

Industries We Serve
Tailored masterbatch solutions for diverse industry applications.
8 checks that separate a masterbatch manufacturer from a reseller
Use these eight criteria to compare any supplier — and to see where MHK Color stands on each.
Dispersion quality
Ask for the filter pressure value (FPV) or dispersion rating on a production batch, not a lab sample. MHK: FPV ≤ 0.6 bar/g.
Color consistency
Ask for batch-to-batch ΔE figures. MHK: ΔE below 1.0, verified by spectrophotometer on every batch.
Processing temperature window
A supplier must confirm its carrier suits your melt temperature. MHK: 160–380 °C.
Certification coverage
ISO 9001 alone does not cover food contact or medical use. MHK: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, REACH, FDA, EU 10/2011, RoHS, USP Class VI, RECYCLASS.
Capacity and batch size
Ask for annual output and the largest single batch. MHK: 13,000 t/year, up to 150 t per batch.
Sampling speed and cost
Free, fast sampling tells you how the supplier handles small orders. MHK: free color matching and sample in 24 hours for standard formulations.
MOQ
A low MOQ without a stock system usually means requoting later. MHK: 25 kg from stock formulations.
Batch traceability
Ask which documents ship with each lot. MHK: CoA, TDS, SDS, plus REACH and RoHS declarations.
Certifications & Compliance
Certificate numbers and scope are available on request.

About MHK Color: masterbatch manufacturing in Foshan, China
MHK Color is a professional color masterbatch and functional plastic additives manufacturer based in Foshan, Guangdong, China. For more than 25 years, we have helped plastic processors, compounders, and brand owners across more than 60 countries achieve precise, consistent, and cost-effective coloring across virtually every polymer system, from commodity polyolefins to high-performance engineering plastics. Our facility integrates advanced twin-screw compounding lines, a dedicated color-matching laboratory, and spectrophotometric quality control, allowing us to move a project from an initial color specification to a production-ready masterbatch in as little as three days. Our 17 twin-screw lines run 13,000 tonnes a year.
Behind every batch is a formulation database of more than 30,000 proven color recipes, maintained by 15 polymer engineers and 7 quality-control specialists. When you send us a target shade, our colorists select the closest reference and adjust pigment type, concentration, and carrier resin to match your polymer and process, returning a physical sample within 24 hours. We manufacture black masterbatch with 20–58% carbon black, white masterbatch with up to 75% TiO2, and custom color masterbatch in more than 30,000 Pantone, RAL, or sample-matched shades, alongside special-effect, functional additive, liquid color, and pre-dispersed pigment masterbatches.
Our masterbatches serve nine core industries, from food-contact packaging and automotive interiors to agricultural films, medical devices, construction, electronics, textiles, consumer goods, and 3D printing. We verify color on every batch by spectrophotometry, holding batch-to-batch consistency within Delta E below 1.0 under an ISO 9001 quality system. We provide complete documentation including CoA, TDS, SDS, and REACH and RoHS declarations, plus FDA and EU 10/2011 compliant formulations for regulated applications, so you can be confident in quality and compliance at every shipment.
Working with us is fast, transparent, and low-risk. Share your resin, target shade, and performance requirements, and our technical team responds within three hours with a recommendation and quotation, then produces a free sample within 24 hours for standard formulations. Once approved, we scale to production from a 25 kg minimum order, supporting everything from small-batch trials to multi-ton contracts with consistent, documented quality. We are equally committed to sustainability, offering PCR and bio-based carrier masterbatches, NIR-detectable black for fully recyclable packaging, and low-VOC metallic effects. Once a sample is approved, standard production runs 2–7 days, 2 days on an expedited basis. Contact us today to discuss your requirements and request a free sample.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the typical loading ratio?
Loading ratio varies by application and pigment system, typically between 0.5% and 5% for standard formulations. High-opacity whites and high-tint colors can run lower, while special effects may need more. Send us your target shade and process and we will recommend the exact ratio.
Which carrier resins are available?
We supply PE and PP carriers for polyolefins, plus custom-matched carriers for engineering polymers such as PC, PA, PET, PBT, ABS and PS, including carrier-free grades. The carrier is matched to your base resin so dispersion and mechanical properties stay intact.
Are food-grade options available?
Yes. We offer FDA and EU 10/2011 compliant formulations for direct and indirect food contact, with migration-tested pigments and full documentation. Specify your regulatory requirements when you ask for a quote.
How fast can I get samples?
Free color matching and a physical sample are completed within 24 hours for standard formulations; custom development typically takes 3–7 days. We match RAL, Pantone or a physical sample.
What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
The standard MOQ is 25 kg for stock formulations. Custom colors may carry a higher MOQ depending on the pigment system. We confirm the exact MOQ in your quotation.
What is the HS code for masterbatch?
Masterbatch is generally declared under HS code 3206499000, which covers preparations based on titanium dioxide and other colouring matter used in the plastics industry. Confirm the exact code with your customs broker, as it can differ by pigment type and carrier resin, and ask your supplier for the declared code before shipment.
What is your production lead time after sample approval?
Standard production runs 2–7 days after the color is approved, 2 days on an expedited basis. Rush orders can be arranged subject to line availability and raw material stock. We confirm the exact date in writing with the order acknowledgement.
What is your annual production capacity?
MHK Color runs 17 twin-screw compounding lines with an annual capacity of 13,000 tonnes, in single batches of up to 150 tonnes. Capacity is shared across color, black, white and additive lines, so large seasonal programs should be booked in advance.
